For the eighth time in a row, interested visitors were able to take a look at our production halls and manufacturing processes during the "Long Night of Industry".
After managing director Tanja Hoppmann warmly welcomed the visitors, our trainees led through the company's history with a presentation. Afterwards, the visitors experienced an interesting tour through injection moulding production, assembly and the testing laboratory. Here they could get to know the diverse product portfolio, which serves various industries. The concluding "Market of Opportunities" offered the ideal opportunity to ask open questions and get to know the various departments and professions at WISKA.
As a prospective industrial clerk, trainee Elvira Schumacher was responsible for the course of the "Long Night of Industry" and, together with her team, ensured that everything went smoothly!less

Not only on the field but also outside the pitch, supporting young talents is essential to us. So there was not doubt for our apprentices to take part at the Christmas tree charity event of the Hamburger SV (HSV) foundation “Der Hamburger Weg” and to satisfy Christmas wishes of disadvantaged children. Everybody was free to pick up these Christmas wishes from the "Der Hamburger Weg"-Christmas trees spread over Hamburg.Learn more!

Great opening match by Fiete Arp at the U17 Soccer World Cup in India: With a goal and a pass, he led the German Team to a 2:1 victory against Costa Rica. What a performance! In the game on Tuesday, the team had less success and the youngsters got a 0:4 defeat by Iran. That’s why they have to fear about getting kicked out of the World Cup at their game on Friday.Learn more!
„We will definitely keep our fingers crossed for the upcoming match on Friday. As well as the employees of our subsidiary in India. They also assure us of their mental support. So it can only be a good match against Guinea,“ says Ronald Hoppmann, Managing Director of WISKA as well as a big fan of the Hamburger SV (HSV) Bundesliga team.
The U17 Soccer World Cup takes place in India from 6 - 28 of October with all eyes on the young Hamburg talent Fiete Arp (17).
"Fiete Arp is a great example of what can happen if we strengthen young people and foster their talent. We are delighted that he has gained self-confidence at the HSV academy to play big on the international stage. Of course, this also involves handling defeats.“ says Ronald Hoppmann.
For the 2017/18 soccer season in Germany, WISKA is one of the first companies in the newly founded support group for HSV young talents.
"Young people need a chance to prove themselves. This is the only way of building a bridge to the future. That is why we have expanded our partnership with the HSV by supporting their youth promotion program," says Ronald Hoppmann, who is leading the WISKA company together with his sister Tanja Hoppmann, in the third generation.
Promoting young talent is important for WISKA. In addition to a comprehensive apprenticeship of the junior employees, the focus is set on self-responsible action. From internal projects to representing the company at established fairs – the young employees learn the meaning of actively shaping the company and take on responsibility.
After starting sponsoring the Hamburger SV (HSV) as an „Official Supplier“ in 2016, we now have extended our support for the long-established German Bundesliga football team during the season 2017 / 18. But above this, this time we especially support the HSV young talents – being one of the first companies in HSV´s newly formed association for young talents.Learn more!
Together with HSV CEO Herbert Bruchhagen, we are happy to continue our collaboration: “The fact that WISKA is continuing to sponsor the HSV demonstrates great trust in the partnership. As a sponsor of our junior teams, our partner is now also getting involved in the vocational and advanced training of our young football players. There isn’t enough praise that can be said for this commitment.”

The "Spring Festival" - another name for the Chinese New Year ends with the Lantern Festival. Then beautiful lanterns are displayed and sweet rice dumpling soup is eaten.
We wish our colleagues in China a happy new year.less
After our foundation by Wilhelm Hoppmann and Hermann Mulsow in 1919, we decided to highlight our brand name “WISKA” – translated an abbreviation for “waterproof cable fittings encapsulated in insulating material” – by placing it in front of the company´s name. At all times, however, both founding family names were part of the name, even after the Mulsow family had left the company more than 50 years ago.Learn more!
Now that we are looking forward to celebrating our 100th anniversary in two years, we think it is time to adapt our name to the reality. At WISKA you meet the Hoppmann family with its team of worldwide 260 employees – in person and on site. Therefore starting from 23rd January we operate under the name of WISKA Hoppmann GmbH.less
