A team only works like an excellent gearwheel when even the smallest components perform at their best. On the occasion of our centenary, we present our grommets All-Stars team.
With the improved manufacturing conditions of plastics in the early 1950’s – specifically in the fields of polyethylene (PE) and thermoplastic materials, WISKA begins developing and manufacturing a grommet for the newly launched KA installation box. This grommet is inserted into a KA knockout allowing quick and easy cable entry. This grommet is cut or pierced, and cable is then inserted.
Following on from the KA grommet, the twisting grommet is launched in 1963. Made of polyethylene (PE) the twisting sleeve features a thread and is available with and without an aperture. This product opens up new application prospects as it is not limited to use with one product.
In order to make work easier and more effective for the user, the grommet is optimised - the QUIXX® series is launched on the market. QUIXX is manufactured using 2-component injection moulding: a hard-threaded outer body with a soft membrane inner (made of thermoplastic elastomer). Simple insert QUIXX into opening, pierce membrane and insert cable. A flame-retardant TPE version is also available.
In 2010, WISKA expands their grommet range further with the launch of CLIXX®. The CLIXX® series not only enables simple and fast cable entry through a soft component, but also ensures that the cable is strain-relieved thanks to the unique clasping system. Through its flat construction, CLIXX® is particularly space-saving in tight installation spaces.
WISKA launches MultiCLIXX® / TKS 32 on the market. And the name says it all: The product combines strain relief, robust body, soft membrane and can run several cables at the same time. MultiCLIXX® / TKS 32 thus offers the user a further type of cable entry to install cables quickly, easily and safely via a grommet. Our subsidiary WISKA UK wins a 'Top Product' award with this product at the end of 2017.
